Climate Action

help is our main goal!

DAREM was established by a Mbororo women Zainab Abdullahi, an activist who recognizes the severe challenges faced by the Mbororo community especially women and girls; including issues like early marriage, lack of access to education and healthcare, and discrimination. Being a survivor of pain of early marriage, she sought to create DAREM that would advocate for the rights of the Mbororo while also supporting community-driven development initiatives.

Our Focus

Initially, DAREM focuses 70% of its efforts in supporting the Mbororo people and the remaining 30% on other vulnerable populations. In the Mbororo communities, DAREM handles issues specifically through encouraging their access healthcare services and promoting mobile healthcare clinics to serve remote Mbororo communities, providing economic empowerment for women and girls, providing scholarships to enable Mbororo youth to access education as while as run adult literacy programs, climate change adaptation, and peacebuilding. It has expanded its scope to also address issues like gender equality, sexual reproductive health and right, targeting internally displaced persons and young women and girls.
